Our Policies​

Please read through carefully before booking. Failure to adhere to policies will result in additional fees, and/or being blocked from booking.

Snout N' About strives to provide a calm, quiet atmosphere, but we need your cooperation to do so. Here's what we need from you, the pet parent.

1. Provide up to date Rabies vaccination info. This is a must before any services can be provided. Tags are not sufficient as they do not have expiration dates or names on them. Documentation with the expiration date visible is acceptable. This is not only our rule, this is state law! 

2. Be prepared for prices that are subject to change. When booking online, quotes shown are the minimum pricing, and may not be reflective of your pup's unique care. Doodles have specialialty coats that require specialialty care. These pups are not minimum pricing.​

3. Do not enter before the scheduled appointment time. Right on time is best! If you are early, please wait in your car, or take your pup on a walk to potty. Any sooner will impede on other's visit, disrupting the atmosphere.

4. If you are more than 15 mins late to your scheduled time, the appointment will be cancelled. Choosing a day you aren't on a tight schedule is best.

5. Have your pet potty before your appointment. For your convenience, we provide courtesy bags to the left of our door, as well as a garbage can located right below the bag dispenser.

6. Wait to be notified for pick up. Entering the salon before the service is completed is not only disruptive; It's dangerous - Service will conclude where it left off, at full price. It becomes no longer safe to continue due to excitement and movement while holding extremely sharp equipment.

7. No more than one pet family may be in the lobby at once. If you see there is already a pup in the lobby, wait outside and give them space to leave before entering. Safety first!

8. You must maintain leash control of your pup in the lobby. The pup must not be allowed to jump on any furniture, shelving or displays.

9. Anyone who becomes verbally abusive, and/or threatens safety will be asked to leave, and law inforcement may be contacted. We have the right to refuse service, and will not tolerate hostilility.

10. Let the staff know if you've administered any sedative before the appointment, and inform us of any health concerns or allergies.

Grooming Specific Policies

1.  If your pup has matting, we spot shave it out, rather than subject them to the pain, distress, and skin irritation detangling causes. If the matting is excessive, it will result in a full body shave down with additional fees for blade maintenece. Dematting will never be a suprise, and we will seek your permission before proceeding. We love and value your furbaby's safety and comfort MORE than their hair. Humanity over vanity, always. Good news is, it grows back! (and quicker than you think, too.)

2. If you refuse dematting, that is refusal of the service offered, and we cannot proceed with the appointment. We cannot in good conscious leave the matts. Bathing them makes them tighten even worse. Matting continuously grabs more and more hair until their whole body becomes a solid casing. It is very serious to address it before it reaches that point.

3. It is the responsibility of you, the pet parent to prevent matting from forming. Long and fluffy means daily brushing, more frequent grooming appointments, and higher costs. Ask yourself if you are realistically willing to pay higher prices and consistenly, thoroughly, sacrifice time to brush. If you seek low maintence and lower costs, shorter length is the way to go.

4. Snout N' About does not offer ear plucking. Modern studies clearly shows ear plucking causes more harm than good. If it reaches the point of absolute necessity, reach out to your vet and they can perform this procedure.
